Did a series of narratives for my favorite short story, The Yellow Wallpaper (by Charlotte Perkins Gilman), for my special studies in illustration course. These were all painted over the course of two weeks, so sorry if the hurried nature is visually evident!
This is probably my favorite Yellow Wallpaper illustration that I've seen so far. It's so creepy and horrifying, and I think it's what's left unsaid/unexplored in the picture that makes it so scary. You don't know what she looks like. You don't really know what she's doing, or what damage she could have done to the rest of the room. Gosh it's awesome.
Great visual to go with the story!
Seeing this made me so happy! That is my favorite short story of all time.
