self portrait of sorts.
i'm warming up to watercolors and enjoying working with them -- i would have never guessed. they're nice and fast, which is a good break from working with oils or graphite.

i'm not really sure what i'm doing with this image yet -- so no background; no title.
i also always ABUSE the paper i use (lots of brush+water rubbing; paper peeling up)...which is why the back looks so rough. but i don't think that's necessarily a bad thing at this point.

have you tried using loose canvas? staple it to a wall and you can abuse it as much as you like.

o yeah, but i'm just using cheapo watercolor paper (pocket sized moleskine) :)
i'm curious to try watercolor canvas though.

Without those hints of blue the figure wouldn't be nearly as powerful as it currently is. Beautiful.
